QUESTION: I recently counted thirteen different albums by different artists that had the song "Under Your Spell Again" in them. Do you know how many artists had hit records on that song?
ANSWER: Buck Owens and Ray Price each scored top five hits with the tune in 1959, Waylon Jennings and Jessi Colter's version made it to # 39 in 1971, Barbara Fairchild's recording peaked at # 67 in 1976 and Shelby Lynne's version topped out at # 93 in 1989.

TODAY IN 1963: The Louvin Brothers played their last show, as a duo in Watseka, Illinois. As a duet, Ira and Charlie Louvin (born Ira and Charlie Loudermilk in Section, Alabama), placed 12 songs on the country charts between 1955 and 1962. Ira died in a car crash in June 1965. His solo recording of "Yodel, Sweet Molly" peaked at # 44 in 1965. Charlie died in January 2011 and had placed 30 songs on the charts as a single act.
